Jane has been Editor of The Vegetarian magazine for the past ten years, and is the resident food writer for Resurgence magazine. A passionate vegetarian foodie and currently Secretary of the Guild of Food Writers, Jane believes that the very best way to show people just how good vegetarian and vegan food can be is through inspirational demonstrations, delicious tasting samples and the kind of teaching that puts the enjoyment back into cookery.
Jane says: Cooking is such a great thing to do - it's fun, it can be challenging, and people can get so much satisfaction out of it. I got into teaching because I was horrified that so many people today just don't cook at all - either they don't know where to start, or they know the basics but feel intimidated by all the cookery programmes that make it look so technical and difficult. Cookery doesn't have to be fancy - good basic home cooking can do so much to improve people's health and morale. I'm on a mission to help people to take back responsibility for their own health by restoring the nation's confidence in the kitchen!
