The Cordon Vert School, part of the Vegetarian Society, is the world's premier vegetarian cookery school. We teach both the general public and professionals the many aspects of vegetarian cookery in workshops held here at Parkdale in Altrincham.
We run one and two day leisure workshops for members of the public to attend. On offer are both hands on workshops for people wanting a practical experience and demonstration only days for the more laid back participant. As vegetarians food tastes tend to be quite eclectic our themes can range from Indian or Moroccan cookery to mushroom foraging or healthy eating.
The flagship of Cordon Vert is our coveted Cordon Vert Diploma for professionals. Chefs and cooks from all areas of catering have trained with us ranging from hospital cooks to chefs at the House of Commons.
Out and About
We are proactive in promoting vegetarian food throughout the catering industry and cost sectors. For instance we are currently working with Vegetarian for Life to promote healthy food for vegetarians in care homes, offering practical demonstrations inhouse to their chefs across the country.
We're not ones to keep a low profile as we promote vegetarian food through food shows and festivals. You may have seen us out and about over the last year doing demonstrations at events such as the Northwest Food Lovers Festival at Tatton Park, the Nantwich Food Festival, the Yoga Show in London and many, many others.
You can read a more detailed history of our school in our history section.
